Whilst there isn’t a set definition for hypoallergenic we know that, as all our recipes are clearly labelled with fully transparent ingredients, including clearly identifiable protein, our food is considered hypoallergenic. However, it is always important to read the ingredients carefully because whether or not a recipe is truly hypoallergenic for your dog, depends on the intolerance they have. If there is anything you are unsure of, we would recommend you reach out to your vet.

You can safely store your opened trays of Forthglade wet meals in the fridge for up to two days after opening, without any compromise to quality or flavour.

We have a wholegrain range that contains brown rice only. The rest of our wet food range is grain free. If you'd like to shop our wholegrain recipes, they are available here.

Our wet food trays should be stored in a cool, dry place. If you prefer a more solid consistency to our wet food, you may choose to store unopened trays in a fridge during hot weather. Just pop them on the side to bring up to room temperature before feeding.

Most of our customers like to mix wet & dry food together at mealtimes, so you’re not alone!

You can use whichever split of wet vs dry food suits your dog best, but as a start point if you’d like to feed a 50:50 mix of Wet and Dry food – simply feed 50% of the daily recommended allowance of Wet Food alongside 50% of the recommended daily allowance of Dry Food over the course of the day.  

Complete' means that you can feed the meal to your dog without needing to mix it in with anything else - all the nutrition your dog will need is contained within one product.

No, our recipes do not contain buckwheat.

Our wet food trays are gently cooked and sealed. They are shelf-stable and don't need to be kept chilled before opening. They should be stored in a cool, dry place. It's normal for them to feel warm after spending time in a delivery vehicle or carrier depot, especially during hot weather.

As long as the trays are still fully sealed, show no signs of damage, swelling or leaking, and are within their best before date, they're perfectly safe to feed. If you prefer a more solid consistency to our wet food, you may choose to store the unopened trays in a fridge during hot weather. Just pop them on the side to bring up to room temperature before feeding.
