Founded in Devon over 50 years ago, Forthglade has always had sustainability at heart. Now, as a Certified B Corp, we’re committed to using our business as a force for good, making positive pawprints for our planet, our people and the dogs we love.

Our Purpose
As a pack of dog lovers, it’s important to us that every dogs dinner we serve is a force for good; nourishing dogs in need, nurturing that special bond between dogs and their owners, and importantly, helping to protect the planet for all.
We believe in investing for a sustainable future, helping to keep our paw print on the planet as light as possible… watch our latest video for more information about how we power our factory in the heart of Devon with sunshine energy 🐾

Reducing Our Pawprint On The Planet
As a pack of dog lovers, we believe every dinner we make should be a force for good. Nourishing dogs in need, celebrating the special bond between dogs and their owners, and helping protect the planet for future generations.
We’re investing in a more sustainable future and working to keep our pawprint on the planet as light as possible. From using less energy and reducing carbon emissions to cutting waste through our supply chain and supporting UK dog charities. We’re committed to doing better every step of the way.
We’ve set ourselves ambitious targets for the next two years:
- We’ve invested in 2,000 solar panels on the roof of our Devon factory. Over an average year, they’re expected to generate 25% of the electricity needed to power our site.
- We’re launching a water remediation project designed to reduce site water usage by 28%.
- Aiming to reduce our overall waste by 30%.

What is a B Corp?
Being a B Corp means our natural dog food is made by a company that’s independently certified for doing good - balancing purpose and profit and making positive pawprints for our plant, people and the dogs we love.

Our Values
Our core values unite us, inform our decisions and help to shape our behaviours.
Looking After Each Other
At the heart of our story, is our people.
Fair pay: We monitor salaries and are committed to paying a fair wage, not just meeting the national minimum wage.
Health and wellbeing: Our work is important to us, but we believe in a healthy work-life balance and offer flexible working options wherever possible. We also have membership to Grocery Aid, our industry charity, a free to access service, supporting financial and emotional wellbeing
Giving back: Our whole pack are passionately involved in giving back, including taking time out to support worthwhile causes through our staff volunteering days. Usually working as a team, we enjoy planting trees with our partners at the National Trust, or helping out at a local dog rescue centre for the day.
Our Charity Partners
As a pack of Devonian dog lovers, we are committed to nourishing all dogs, especially those not lucky enough to be with their forever family just yet.
