Surprisingly, beef is a richer protein which comes with a lower fat content, both of these things make it a super tasty option for dog food. It's a rich source of high-quality protein, vitamins, and minerals, which help to support muscle health, boost energy, and promote a shiny coat. Overall beef is an easily digestible protein that provides essential nutrients that support your dog’s overall health and well-being.

Don't forget, if switching to a new diet, even with easily digestible proteins such as beef, switching still takes time and should be a gradual change. Here's a helpful blog on changing your dogs diet to help give advice around a successful switch.

You’ve heard it before, ‘you are what you eat’ - and this is just as relevant for your pet as it is to you. A good diet is crucial to your pet’s overall health and wellbeing.

At Forthglade our aim has remained the same since we opened our doors in 1971; to produce simple, wholesome & natural meals for dogs which provide them with the nourishment they deserve. You only need to see and smell our food to appreciate the quality.

All of our wet recipes are hypoallergenic. This means we carefully select our ingredients to ensure that our recipes are of the best quality for your four legged friend. We use simple, quality ingredients with no junk or nasties. This means delicious and nutritious recipes that are kind and gentle to your dogs tummy.

Our Forthglade recipes are natural (with added vitamins and minerals in our complete ranges and selected treats). Each wet recipe is free from artificial colours and flavours.

We live by a ‘free from junk and fillers’ promise, so you can be confident your four-legged friend is getting wholesome, quality nutrition at mealtimes.

When changing a pet’s diet it’s crucial to do it gradually in order to be gentle on their digestive system.

Ideally the new diet should be added to their current food in very small portions over a 5 day period, increasing this small amount each day until eventually you are feeding your pet 100% Forthglade.

Here is some advice from Dr James Greenwood, Media Vet and Forthglade Ambassador:

"When transitioning your dog onto a new diet, it is particularly important to do this gradually and to avoid any sudden changes. This allows your dog’s digestive system to adapt with the switch and remain in balance. As a minimum, allow 5 full days to gradually reduce their current diet whilst simultaneously increasing their new food with each meal. For dogs with sensitive tummies, go even slower and transition over 1-2 weeks"

Meaty Beef Dog Food

Our beef wet dog food is a flavourful, protein-packed choice. Beef food for dogs gives dogs the essential nutrients they need to thrive. Rich in iron, vitamins, and minerals, beef helps support strong muscles, healthy energy levels, and overall vitality.

Our beef-based meals are made with high-quality ingredients, offering a satisfying and nutritious meal for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Our beef wet dog food is currently available in both complete dog food and complementary dog food options giving you the ability to tailor meals for your four-legged friends needs.

Wet & Meaty Beef Dog Food

All of our beef wet food is available as part of our grain free dog food range, designed for dogs with sensitive tummies and free from all junk and fillers. Make sure you consider the calorie content of beef recipes vs other leaner proteins such as turkey to prevent unnecessary weight gain. Keeping this in mind, it's also worth considering variety packs that include beef, ensuring your dog enjoys a balanced and wholesome meal every time.

Forthglade’s beef dog food is made with love and care, using only quality beef and natural ingredients. Our meals are slow-cooked in the UK to retain the nutrients and flavours, ensuring your dog gets the best possible food. We never use artificial additives or fillers, so you can feel confident that your dog is eating clean, natural food.

In addition to our beef options, we also offer a variety of other meals, including wholegrain dog food to ensure we are catering to different dietary needs. Whether your dog has sensitivities or prefers a specific type of meal, we have something for every pup in our diverse range.
