Our Lightly Baked Range Is Vet Approved For Everyday Vitality

"Feeding a natural, high quality dry food is a popular choice and it is easy to understand why. Whether cold pressed or kibble, dry food is practical to store and can be more cost effective than feeding wet. Some dogs find the ‘crunch’ of dry food really satisfying, especially if combined with a puzzle feeder or when scatter feeding to heighten their overall mealtime experience"

Dr James Greenwood, Media Vet & Forthglade Ambassador

Our lightly baked range contains 50% protein

We work very closely with a team of like-minded dog lovers to produce our range of lightly baked natural dry food for dogs.

We're very lucky to have found a team who are both experts, who share our belief in nourishing the relationship you have with your dog through a good quality natural diet.

Yes!

Our wet dog food can be used as an accompaniment to a good quality, natural dry food – just make sure you adjust the quantities to avoid over-feeding.

You can use whichever split of wet vs dry food suits your dog best, but as a start point if you’d like to feed a 50:50 mix of wet and dry food – simply feed 50% of the daily recommended allowance of wet food alongside 50% of the recommended daily allowance of dry food over the course of the day.

Our Lightly Baked dry food recipes are not recommended for puppies (or dogs under 1 year old) due to the fact that puppies require quite specific nutritional support during this important stage in their development.

We don’t yet have a Lightly Baked recipe designed for puppies specifically but won’t rule it out for the future!

We do have a range of complete puppy recipes that provide the best possible nutrition to your growing puppy during their first 12 months of life. You can check out the range here

Dry dog food sometimes gets overlooked, but at Forthglade, we take pride in offering something special. Our Cold Pressed and Lightly Baked Dry Food recipes are carefully crafted with high levels of protein and are free from unnecessary fillers. Each recipe is complete and balanced, providing everything your dog needs for their daily nutrition.

To give you extra peace of mind, our dry foods are independently rated by All About Dog Food, a trusted resource that compares a wide range of products on the market. We’re proud to have achieved a fantastic 77% rating for our Cold Pressed Dry Food and 70% for our Lightly Baked Dry Food. You can explore these ratings and more details across all of our ranges here.

You can find this impartial information across all of our ranges here. We're also lucky enough to have thousands of verified customers who also love our dry dog food, our full list of reviews can be found here.

Natural Lightly Baked Dry Dog Food

Our Lightly Baked Dog Food range is a nutritionally balanced natural dry food with 50% single source protein. Lightly baked to seal in the goodness, these dry dog food recipes are a complete, delicious and balanced meal in bite-sized pellets, containing everything your dog needs to stay happy and healthy.

Suitable for dogs aged 1 year+, these complete natural dog food kibble recipes are available in three flavours, lamb, chicken or turkey. Based on our verified reviews, customers love that their dogs enjoy eating the food and the nutritional content means they know their dog is getting a good nutritionally balanced meal.

50% Single Source Protein Dog Food

Here Dr James Greenwood, Media Vet and Forthglade Ambassador explains why single protein dog food is a helpful way to feed your dog: "Single source protein diets are great for two main reasons. Firstly, you know EXACTLY which meat or fish protein is in your dog's food with no risk of hidden ingredients or nasty surprises and secondly, it allows you to tailor your choice of which flavours to try (and which to avoid!) for those dogs with dietary sensitivities. Essentially, this gives you more clarity and control over ingredients when feeding your dog".

You don't need to mix our dry food with anything else, but if you prefer to mix up mealtimes, it's the perfect companion to our complete wet food ranges. We recommend a 50/50 feeding split and transitioning your dog over a period of five days to avoid any upset stomachs. You can read more about transitioning your dog's food here.
