YAKERS Original Dog Chew

YAKERS are cheese chews made from Himalayan milk, with a little lime juice and a pinch of salt to help turn the milk into cheese. For the flavoured recipes, natural ingredients such as strawberry or cranberry are added during mixing.

Once your dog has finished chewing, keep the remaining piece in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place below 35°C, away from moisture, direct sunlight and heat. Remove it from your dog when it becomes small enough to swallow whole. Following YAKERS’ guidance, you can microwave the small end piece on high for around 30–60 seconds until it puffs up. Allow it to cool completely before giving it back to your dog.

YAKERS are hard chews intended for healthy dogs 4+ Months. They’re not recommended for puppies under 4 months, elderly dogs or dogs with dental problems. For puppies aged 4 months and over, or if you’re unsure whether they’re right for your four-legged friend, check with your vet first. Always supervise chewing.

The cheese is wrapped in muslin cloth as it’s pressed into blocks. This leaves the little dimples you can see on the sides of each chew.

Yes, YAKERS chews are vegetarian. The Original recipe is made with milk, lime juice and salt, while the flavoured recipes include additional ingredients such as fruit and pumpkin seeds.

Despite being made from cheese, YAKERS are low in fat. The cream is removed from the milk during the first stage of making them. Original chews contain 5.2% fat, while the Strawberry and Cranberry recipes contain 5%.

YAKERS chews are naturally preserved through an extended drying process, so they don’t need excessive packaging to keep them fresh. Keeping packaging to a minimum helps reduce waste while staying true to the simple way these chews are made.

YAKERS are traditionally smoked in the Himalayas. The chews sit on drying racks and are moved further away from the smoke each week over a four-week period. Some receive a little more smoke than others, giving them a darker colour. Slight differences between chews and batches are perfectly normal.

YAKERS chews have a shelf life of 24 months from manufacture. Always follow the best-before date supplied with your product.
