Our tasty puppy recipe contains everything your new family member needs to stay happy and healthy. With 75% lamb with liver alongside sweet potato and vegetables, this grain-free meal is easily digestible and specifically tailored for the early stages of your dog's life.

From sweet potato - which has high energy density, perfect for bouncy puppies - to added salmon oil - a source of omega 3 to help brain development - and high levels of chondroitin and glucosamine, which help support bone & joint development, we've specifically tailored our ingredients to ensure the best for your growing puppy.

Perfect for all your puppy feeding needs, this complete hypoallergenic recipe can be given as a standalone meal, a combination of wet and dry, or even as a tasty topper.

Lamb (71%), Lamb Liver (4%), Sweet Potato (4%), Carrots (2%), Peas (2%), Minerals, Chicory Root Extract (0.45%), Salmon Oil (0.25%), Linseed Oil (0.25%), Dried Seaweed*, Herbs (Parsley, Rosemary, Nettle, Camomile) (0.12%), Glucosamine (50mg/ Kg), Chondroitin (50mg/ Kg), Yucca Extract (0.005%). *natural ingredient

Analytical Constituents:

Crude Protein 9.5%, Crude Fibre 0.5%, Crude Fat 8%, Crude Ash 4.5%, Omega 3 0.3%, Moisture 75%.

Our recommended feeding amounts are here to help you, but no-one knows your four-legged friend better than you do, so do feel free to tailor them based on your dogs individual lifestyle. As a general guide if your dog is very active you should consider feeding a little more, and likewise if your dog isn’t very active you may want to consider feeding less.

This a complete wet pet food for dogs. A nutritionally complete food that can be fed on it's own, added to Forthglade cold pressed dry food or used as a tasty topper. If mixing with other foods please adjust quantities accordingly.

As with all changes to your dogs' diet - if you're using the product for the first time, you should gradually introduce it to your dog over a period of 5 days to avoid any unnecessary tummy upset.

Don’t just take our word for it...

See what other pet parents are saying about this product

My pup enjoys the product, devouring every meal. I still find it difficult to get the cover off. A larger, marked tab on one corner might help. Thank you...

A really good quality food that actually hasn't got chicken in it as we think our pup has an allergy to it.
karen hayes
Great quality wet food, Dilly loves the taste and races to her bowl at dinner time, only down side is she loves it so much she wolfs it down so quick and looks at me for more 😃
MS Derby
My 8 month old golden retriever absolutely loves this food & she definitely gives it the paws up!!
Miss Joanna Hearn
The consistency is good and it keeps for 48 hours in the fridge.. This is important when transitioning as you don't want to waste food. All went well and we are now enjoying every mouthful.
Kris

Great as always, Bert loves this flavour & it's gentle on his sensitive belly 😉
Carole Williams
Great quality & our Golden Retriever loves it but we can't afford the price to feed it on its own. We mix a slice with her usual kibble & that seems to work well.
Keith Comer
Puppy loves the food and we get complements about how good a condition she is in
Penny Tuffield
One of the very few lamb and squash based puppy foods which is great for my dog with a sensitive tummy. And she loves it!
Becky
Our pup had a sensitive stomach and as soon as we moved her onto this food she was having great 💩! She also drools when we’re making her tea. 10/10 from honey the retriever
Amelia Clovis
My boy really loved this product, he has been off his food but went straight for this! Only slight change from me would be to not waste the cardboard sleeves on multipacks, they just came straight out the box and into the recycling and was such a waste!
Rebecca James
My new puppy is fussy - we have tried several different brands and he absolutely loves forthglade
customer N. Harris
Although I have given 5-stars for “Taste - I haven’t tried it myself but our 12 week old puppy seems to be liking it.

Switching Day By Day

"When transitioning your puppy onto a new diet, it is particularly important to do this gradually and to avoid any sudden changes. This allows your dog’s digestive system to adapt with the switch and remain in balance. As a minimum, allow 5 full days to gradually reduce their current diet whilst simultaneously increasing their new food with each meal. For dogs with sensitive tummies, go even slower and transition over 1-2 weeks"

FAQs

All Forthglade meals are natural, full of wholesome goodness and gentle enough for all dogs from 2 months+.

Our puppy recipes contain a tailored mix of vitamins & minerals specifically designed for puppies, and include Salmon Oil which is rich in Omega-3 and widely recognised to support your puppy’s growing joints and cognitive development. We carefully selected proteins to match your bouncy puppy's needs.

In the short term, you can of course feed an adult recipe to your puppy, however we would recommend moving to a puppy recipe when it is convenient to do so to ensure that your dog is getting the tailored nutrition, they need for their current life stage.

Our puppy recipes contain a tailored mix of vitamins & minerals specifically designed for puppies, and include Salmon Oil which is rich in Omega-3 and widely recognised to support your puppy’s growing joints and cognitive development. We're so happy that you're considering giving Forthglade a go, thank you for trusting us with your dogs diet, we truly know how big of a decision this is and we're confident you won't regret it.

Although it can be tempting to simply jump in with both feet when it comes to a new diet, it’s really important to switch over to the new food slowly to avoid any unnecessary tummy-upset.

  • Begin with a proportion of about 25% new food to 75% previous food
  • Over 7-14 days, gradually increase the amount of new food and decrease the amount of previous food until you are feeding only the new dietStick to your normal feeding pattern and aim to feed your dog at a similar time each day
  • Digestion creates a significant amount of body heat, so for dogs who are prone to heat stress you may want to consider feeding your pet in the early morning or evening when it’s cooler to help prevent them over-heating.

It can seem a little odd to imagine that you’d feed a larger amount of food to a smaller dog than a fully grown one, but this is entirely normal.

Puppies go through a significant period of growth & development during the first 12 months of their life, and they require a larger amount of food to help support this.

As your dog moves from the puppy to adult phase of their life, you should expect to decrease the amount of food you feed to help them maintain a healthy weight as an adult dog.
