Top tips on wellbeing for dogs

"Daily brushing is so important, but also look out for things like dental sticks or treats that contain peppermint oil or parsley that can help to keep their breath nice and fresh."

Dr James Greenwood, Media Vet & Forthglade Ambassador

Dental disease is the most common problem we see in dogs and it is so important that we keep an eye on what's going on. So have a look around their mouth, lift their lips up, and just make sure you know exactly what's going on inside their mouths.

Love from our Ambassadogs

We've included a few tails from our beloved Ambassadogs. We asked the pack for their honest feedback of why they love our Forthglade dental sticks so much...

When opening the dental packet for the first thing you notice the smell of mint and parsley straightaway...they smell so lovely and fresh. My dog Cookie couldn't wait to eat it as soon as she smelt them. I love the fact her breath smells minty after she eaten it too!

@cookiecockerpoo

We give Finn and Maple a dental stick each night before bed to keep their teeth white and their breath fresh. As they are developed by vets and are hypoallergenic, we know that we are giving them something that not only works but doesn't affect Finn's allergies.

@hairyhighlanders

My boys absolutely love the Forthglade dental sticks! They get so excited when I get them out the packet. They’re super easy to break in half for my two little JRTs and I love the cute little heart shape in the middle. The boys always have lovely fresh minty breath for lots of kisses afterwards, and they’re now an important part of the boys dental routine.

The white flecks are sweet potato flakes, which are a fantastic source of potassium, calcium and iron for your dog.

Dental sticks should only play a small part in your dog's balanced diet. For smaller dogs (up to 15kg) we recommend half a stick per day. For dogs larger than this, we recommend up to 1 stick per day.

Our new dental stick recipe now contains sweet potato, and we now use dried mint instead of peppermint oil.

Yes - you can recycle these with bags at larger stores.

Yes, our dental sticks are suitable for smaller dogs. For dogs up to 15kg, we recommend up to half a stick per day.

No, our dental sticks should only be consumed by dogs aged 1 year+.

Our new recipe now produces a denser stick, meaning your four-legged friend will have more to chew on for a more stimulating and engaging treat.

The sticks are now 185g each, whilst they used to be 170g, so there's actually more value for money with the new recipe. We've used less packaging for the new dental sticks which may give the impression that they're smaller, but this isn't the case. We're conscious about our carbon pawprint and are actively trying to reduce our waste, including packaging.
