We’re delighted to announce that David Cox has joined Forthglade as CEO, along with Huxley – his Forthglade-loving Vizsla who’ll be taking the role of Chief Taste Tester amongst the Forthglade pack.
David joins, following recent changes that include the stepping down of initial investors and joint Managing Directors Chris Brooking and Gerard Lovell, who over the last eleven years have helped shape the business and grown Forthglade within the natural pet food space. We’re very pleased that both Chris and Gerard will remain investors in the business and very much a part of the Forthglade Senior Management Team.
Newly appointed CEO David started his career with Unilever, spending 12 years working across many different parts of the business, as well as having worked with Tesco, General Mills, Fox’s Biscuits, and more recently as CEO for Symington’s.
“I’m delighted to be joining the Forthglade team at such an exciting time for the business” says David. “I’m a massive brand advocate, as is our 3 ½ year old Vizsla called Huxley, who has never eaten anything but Forthglade food!”
David plans to spend the next few months getting to know the business and team as well as spending time with our retailers, customers, agencies, and suppliers. With customers at the heart of our business, our mission is to continue to make great products for our customers, and their dogs.
As we say farewell to both Gerard and Chris after 11 years at Forthglade, Gerard says “Being Joint MD of Forthglade has been a privilege, we’ve been innovators and leaders in the growth of natural petfood in a category that has expanded beyond recognition. Our passion to produce natural and wholesome food for dogs has never faltered. But none of this would have been possible without the support of an amazing team.”
