Social Media Executive

Location: Okehampton, Devon.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours a week. Flexible approach to working hours required.

Salary: Dependent on experience

Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays


Role Summary


If you’re a big fan of dogs and you love creating content, this could be the role for you. Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Social Media Executive will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the social media plan, creating captivating content to raise Forthglade’s brand awareness on social in order to significantly grow the social media channels.  


Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for maintaining Forthglade’s social media channels to increase engagement and growth of followers.
  • Working closely with the Communications Manager, develop and implement a social media content
  • Create and curate strong, compelling content that helps promote Forthglade's key values, beliefs, and
  • Work alongside the Communications Manager on Forthglade’s Ambassadogs Programme, liaising with ambassadors to create new content and increase reach on social.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to suggest and develop new content for social media in response to product news or marketing
  • Ensure content on is amplified appropriately across social media channels and that traffic is driven to the site.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on the latest social media trends, introducing new ideas to the content plan to increase growth of engagement and followers across Forthglade’s social media channels.
  • Analyse, review, and report on the performance of Forthglade’s social media channels each month.

Person Specification


  • Minimum 3/4 years’ experience in a marketing role
  • Experience in project management essential
  • Must be passionate about social media, and have a keen interest in expanding knowledge
  • Good numeracy and literary skills – copywriting skills would be an advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and the senior management
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own time effectively, trustworthy, reliable and punctual
