PR & Social Media Executive

Location: Okehampton, Devon combined with WFH

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm/9am-5pm

Salary: Dependant on experience

Holiday: 23 days + Bank Holidays

Reporting into: Head of Communications

 

Role Summary

 

The role will be an integral part of the PR and social media team, instigating and developing key relationships with media and influencers, assisting with brand awareness activity and increasing share of voice via coverage online, in print or via broadcast.

 

 

Accountabilities

 

Key responsibilities within PR:

  • Work closely with Head of Communications to strengthen the in-house PR function
  • Work with external PR agency across key media campaigns
  • Develop strong relationships with leading consumer and trade media titles, on and offline
  • Connect with journalists active on social; Twitter, Linked In, Facebook and Instagram
  • Ensure target media up to date with NPD, campaigns and business news
  • Assist with the planning and development of media partnerships
  • Provide PR support with charity partnerships; National Trust, VWD, DOTS, Happy Paws
  • Assist with the creation and placement of adverts across key media
  • Attend photoshoots / filming days for the creation of marketing assets
  • Draft press releases and product copy
  • Work closely with wider team to maximise all PR-led activity across marcomms
  • Support with coverage tracking

 

Key responsibilities within social:

  • Assist with development of Ambassador programme: developing relationships, content, and monitoring coverage
  • Maximise research opportunities with social listening benchmarking tools such as Falcon to identify opportunities to engage with trending content, review campaigns and monitor competitor activity
  • Engage in social conversations proactively searching for brand mentions and hashtags across platforms; reaching out, increasing brand awareness, encouraging follows and increasing organic engagement
  • Brief in-house design team on creative needs for social assets
  • Provide scheduling and community management when required
  • Work with wider marketing team to share relevant created content and publishing schedules
  • Support with 3rd party social media competitions, working with wider team for brand partnerships
  • Liaise with trade sales team to assist growth of social activity with new and existing trade customers
