Digital Trading Executive

Location: Okehampton, Devon with hybrid working.

Hours:8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday, flexibility outside of these hours will be required to meet business demands

Salary: Dependent on experience

Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays

Reporting into: Senior Digital Trading Manager

To support the growth we are experiencing, we are looking for a Digital Trading Executive to join the Digital team. The right candidate will need to understand all areas of Digital Trading and Merchandising and be able to hit the ground running in this fast-growing market.

 

As part of the Digital team, the objective of the Trading arm is to ensure FG.com is merchandised to maximise sales and conversion. This includes the day to day running of the e-commerce section of the site, merchandising, pricing, promotions, and stock management. Successful candidates will be passionate about customers and the importance of understanding their behaviour – for producing regular reporting on learnings; what is and isn’t working, as well as being proactive on taking the necessary actions to help drive growth.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Help to bring products to life whilst making sure all content across the website is engaging and up to date. Ensuring the website is easy to navigate, is fully functional on both mobile and desktop, and optimised to drive sales and revenue.
  • Supporting customer services with questions around promotions and briefing in updates to the site/training on new functionality when developed.
  • Working with Operational teams to support management of stock levels, returns, wastage, damages, and the rotation of stock.
  • To review website performance, customer buying habits and store navigation, and making tactical decisions in optimising the site as required.
  • Reviewing and reporting on customer responses to messaging/reviews/onsite search and reporting monthly to identify themes on ranges and opportunities.

 

Person Specification

 

  • Experience in website merchandising/trading within an online retail business
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in using tools to extract, interpret and analyse data i.e. Google Analytics, BI systems and Excel
  • An understanding of digital marketing channels (e.g. PPC, affiliates, SEO)
  • Ideally some experience using Shopify/Shopify Plus, but not essential
  • Commercially minded, focused on driving sales and profit opportunities
  • Proactive, self-starting attitude with a willingness to get stuck in, show initiative and solve problems
  • Great communicator, able to engage others and build collaborative relationships easily
  • Flexible, enthusiastic and motivated with the ability to work to targets and adapt to the needs of the business
