Our new plant based dental sticks are made using natural ingredients and developed by vets to help your four-legged friend maintain a healthy dental routine. They’re ideal for supporting strong teeth, helping to remove tartar and plaque, and freshen breath.
Feeding tip: Give your dog an extra special treat for their birthday or special occasions with our gourmet range!
We’ve partnered with the National Trust to launch the Dogs Welcome project, an initiative which aims to improve access for our four-legged friends across the wonderful places the Trust care for. From introducing more dog friendly trails, dog waste bins, wash down areas and drinking stations. The National trust will be taking several steps to ensure dog owners and their pups feel welcome.
We are thrilled to have teamed up with TV presenter and explorer Simon Reeve as a project ambassador, to help share all the exciting news of the Dogs Welcome project. As a keen dog owner Simon and his loyal dog Obi visited the National Trust’s Arlington Court in Devon to see for himself many of the changes underway.
We've included a few tails from our beloved Ambassadogs on why they love our gourmet food so much...
We love that there's more novel proteins like wild boar and goose! Beaker can struggle with some food sensitivities, so we're always keen to try new proteins that will be gentle on his tummy and the gourmet range works wonders for him!
Cookie loves her Forthglade National Trust co-branded duck & venison – I love that it’s grain free and a complete recipe giving her everything she needs! Plus we love supporting the National Trust too when we buy this meal.
We love the gourmet treats and dinners that @forthglade have launched to celebrate partnering with @nationaltrust
Our recommended feeding amounts are here to help you, but no-one knows your four-legged friend better than you do, so do feel free to tailor them based on your dogs individual lifestyle. As a general guide if your dog is very active you should consider feeding a little more, and likewise if your dog isn’t very active you may want to consider feeding less.
More detailed guidelines can be found on individual product pages in the range which can be accessed here.
Our complete grain free wet dog food can be used as an accompaniment to a good quality, natural dry food – just make sure your adjust the quantities to avoid over-feeding.
Our white fish recipes are at the lowest end of the calorie scale. Each recipe will contain detailed nutritional information both on the product page and product when sent.
When changing a pet’s diet it’s crucial to do it gradually in order to be gentle on their digestive system. Ideally the new diet should be added to their current food in very small portions over a 5-day period, increasing this small amount each day until eventually you are feeding your pet 100% Forthglade.
You can safely store your opened trays of Forthglade wet meals in the fridge for up to two days after opening, without any compromise to quality or flavour.
A complete meal contains everything your dog needs to stay happy & healthy - so it simply means that you don't need to mix it with anything else for your four-legged friend to get all the nutrition they need from their dinner. Most of our recipes are complete, with the only exception being our 'Just 90%' range which is a complementary food.
A complementary food is designed to be fed alongside something else for a balanced diet. Feeding a complementary food alone will not give your dog the balanced meal and nourishment they need - so you have to add either your own selection of carbohydrate and fibre filled vegetables or a good quality mixer.
